The Flash - 3 Aug 16

So happy to see one cygnet with the pen for last five days. She is now keeping it close to her at all times. Tried to photo yesterday but we were always at opposite sides of the lake - it happens sometimes.

There was a Coot with two babies, and a Moorhen with one chick on the east pond. A male Grey Heron at the south end of The Flash, and a female at the north end. They have been around for a week now.

There is also a Great Crested Grebe with a chick, and five Mallard ducklings hungrily scuttling round the banks like a gaggle of school girls. Lots of noisy Canada Geese, now flown away, leaving the lake to a few Greylags.
